It’s now less than two weeks until the first ball is kicked in the 2025/26 Premier League season, and less than a month until the summer 2025 transfer window slams shut for teams in England. With limited time remaining for clubs to bolster their squads, recruitment teams across the country are pushing to finalize deals. Here’s every confirmed transfer from last week in the Premier League.
Jorrel Hato - Ajax to Chelsea, £38.5m

Chelsea announced their eighth signing of the summer in 19-year-old Dutch left-back Jorrel Hato, who joins on a seven-year contract from Ajax for a fee of £38.5m.
Hato, who’s been capped six times by the Dutch national team, will provide cover for Marc Cucurella and Malo Gusto at left back, but is also capable of playing in the center of defence.
In three seasons with the Ajax first team, Hato made 111 appearances. He had his most productive campaign last year, with three goals and six assists in all competitions. He’s a good 1v1 defender, with great pace in recovery, as well as the ability to get forward and provide crosses with his left foot.
It’s the caliber of signing we’ve come to expect from Chelsea under owner Todd Boehly, a young talent with a bright future, who they’ll be confident they can sell if he doesn’t make an impact in the first team.
Dan Ndoye - Bologna to Nottingham Forest, £34m

Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of Swiss winger Dan Ndoye for a club record fee from Serie A side Bologna. Manager Nune Espirito Santo was looking to bolster his side's options on the wing after losing Anthony Elanga to Newcastle earlier in the window.
Ndoye joined Bologna from Basel in 2023 and enjoyed his best campaign last year, scoring nine goals with six assists in 41 appearances. Ndoye is also a regular for the Swiss national team, scoring twice in just four appearances in 2025.
More of a goalscorer than a traditional assisting winger like Elanga, Ndoye scored several goals when making trailing runs into the box for Bologna last season, as well as taking several penalties for the side. However, he’s also capable of linking the play between midfield and attack with his passing and dribbling ability.
His progressive carry statistics bode well for a counter-attacking side like Forest, who relied heavily on Elanga to get them up the pitch last season. Ndoye’s 5.5 progressive carries per 90 ranked in the 92nd percentile amongst wingers in Europe’s top five leagues, an increase on Elanga’s 3.6. Ndoye looks to be a clever replacement for Elanga, though the club is also reportedly looking to bring in Fulham winger Adama Traore.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Chelsea to Everton, £25m

Just one year after signing for Chelsea from Leicester City, 26-year-old English midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has traded blue for blue again after signing for Everton in a deal worth £25m.
Dewsbury-Hall made 36 appearances in his one season at Chelsea, scoring five times and adding three assists. However, only 13 of these appearances came in the Premier League, with the majority of his minutes coming against lower-tier opposition in the Europa Conference League.
Before joining Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall was a star at Leicester. After James Maddison departed for Tottenham following the club’s relegation in 2023, Dewsbury-Hall stepped up as the main man in midfield, helping guide the club to promotion. In 44 Championship appearances, he scored 12 goals and notched 14 assists.
While at Chelsea, Dewsbury-Hall was often tasked with playing as an inverted winger. Expect to see him return to a more traditional midfield role for Everton, most likely occupying the space left by the departure of Abdoulaye Doucoure. He could be a huge upgrade to the Everton midfield this season.
João Palhinha - Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur, loan

A year after leaving Fulham to join Bayern Munich, 30-year-old defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha returns to the Premier League on loan with Tottenham Hotspur. The club reportedly included a £25.9m buy option in the deal.
Palhinha was a rock in defensive midfield for Fulham. He made 79 appearances in two seasons at the club and consistently ranked as one of the best performers in the side. However, his move to Bayern was less successful. New manager Vincent Kompany often tasked Palhinha with playing further forward than he’d like, and his performances suffered for it.
A traditional number six, Palhinha should bring some defensive solidity to the Tottenham midfield, providing additional cover in front of the back line. Expect to see him in a similar role to the one Christian Norgaard operated in under Thomas Frank for Brentford last season.
If Palhinha can return to the form that earned him his move to Bayern in the first place, he should be a great addition to the Tottenham side.
David Moller Wolfe - AZ Alkmaar to Wolverhampton Wanderers, £10m

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirmed their third signing of the summer in 23-year-old Norwegian left-back David Moller Wolfe, who joins AZ Alkmaar in a deal worth £10m. Wolfe, who fittingly has a wolf tattoo on his forearm, joins after last season's first-choice left-back Rayan Ait Nouri left the club to join Manchester City earlier in the window.
Wolfe made 47 appearances for AZ Alkmaar last season, scoring three times and adding seven assists. In attack, Wolfe brings a threat, with great crossing and dribbling ability. However, in defense, he may need improvement. Wolfe played as a traditional left-back in a back four for Alkmaar, while for Wolves, he’ll likely play as a wing-back in a back five. This should suit his attacking capabilities and give him additional support in defense.
Along with the return of Hugo Bueno, who spent last season on loan with Feyenoord, Wolves have two young left-backs competing for Ait Nouri’s spot. Favoring youth over experience in that department could work, provided that Wolfe, especially, can adapt to the Premier League.
Callum Wilson - Newcastle to West Ham, free

Veteran striker Callum Wilson joined West Ham United on a free transfer this week, after the conclusion of his contract with Newcastle United. The 33-year-old scored 28 goals in his first two seasons with Newcastle, but struggled with injury last season, scoring just once in 22 appearances.
Wilson replaces long-time West Ham striker Michail Antonio, who left the club this summer. He’ll provide competition for German striker Niclas Fullkrug, who, after an up-and-down first year in London, appears more settled in pre-season.
Wilson missed 29 games through injury last season, so his fitness is the first hurdle for West Ham. However, if he can stay fit, Wilson is a phenomenal option off the bench for Graham Potter.
Aaron Ramsdale - Southampton to Newcastle, loan

Newcastle United confirmed the signing of former Arsenal and England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan from recently relegated Southampton. The news comes amidst rumors that goalkeeper Martin Dubravka may be on his way to Burnley.
Ramsdale will compete with Nick Pope for the number 1 spot; however, it’s unlikely Pope will lose his place in the side, provided his form doesn’t take an unexpected dip.
While he was playing for the worst side in the league, Ramsdale conceded the most goals per 90 of any goalkeeper in the Premier League last season. On loan, though, Ramsdale is a solid backup option who can step in for Pope in cup competitions or if he gets injured.
Robin Roefs - NEC Nijmegen to Sunderland, £11.5m

Sunderland confirmed their eighth signing of the summer in 22-year-old Dutch goalkeeper Robin Roefs, who joins for £11.5m from Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen. Roefs had a breakout year in Holland last campaign, making 33 appearances with a save percentage of 72.9%, ranking him second in the division.
Roefs will compete with 25-year-old English goalkeeper Anthony Patterson for the starting spot. Patterson made 45 appearances for Sunderland last season in the Championship, starting all but one match, and keeping 14 clean sheets. However, his save percentage of 68.7% ranked outside the league's top ten.
Having two capable young goalkeepers is a positive for Sunderland, though neither has experience in a top-five league. It will be interesting to watch how they both perform when given an opportunity.
Angus Gunn - Norwich to Nottingham Forest, free

Nottingham Forest confirmed the signing of 29-year-old Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn, who has joined on a free transfer after his contract with Norwich City expired. Gunn made 31 Premier League appearances between 2018 and 2022, in two seasons with Southampton and his first season with Norwich.
Last season, Gunn’s record was poor in the Championship. His seven clean sheets ranked 19th in the league, while his -5.5 goals prevented placed him second from bottom. Though a reliable back-up, Gunn joins Brazilian Carlos Miguel as support for first-choice keeper Matz Sels.
